AnswerLine

Answerline Privacy Policy

The purpose of AnswerLine is to provide faculty, staff and students with a convenient and personal way to ask questions about Washington State University. Each question will receive a personal, e-mail answer. That is the only reason we ask that you submit an e-mail address with your question. You are not required to use a WSU e-mail address to submit your question.

Your privacy is important to us. We will not share your e-mail address with others. In addition, when answers are added to the public AnswerArchive, the individual who asked the question is not identified nor is the e-mail address listed. We do not collect any personal information about you when you use the AnswerLine service except to ask if you are a member of the faculty, staff or student body. This is done to help us answer the question and to see, in the aggregate, what the University community wants to know about in more detail.

Our Web servers do automatically recognize some non-personal information such as volume and timing of access to the AnswerLine site as well as the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed our sites. Such Web server logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted completely from our systems. The only use we will make of such data is to determine what issues and topics are of the greatest interest, allowing us to improve communication on these topics.

If you have questions about our privacy policy, or have ideas about improving our policy, please feel free to e-mail us at AnswerLine@wsu.edu

Please ask your questions via the Web form. No answers can be given by telephone.
